Dr. Srini Vuggumudi is a certified information security professional, researcher, and multi-skilled software engineer with over 25 years of experience in the software industry, spanning numerous corporations, including Fortune 500 companies and startups. Dr. Srini is an expert in application security, penetration testing, software development, and project management. Dr. Srini held several positions, including programmer, project lead, and chief of software development, working on Unix, Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Macintosh operating systems. He built back-end, middleware, and front-end solutions for various industries with a strong focus on security. Dr. Srini is proficient in SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) methodologies, including the Waterfall, Spiral, and Agile models. He is passionate about application security and AI governance. Dr. Srini is proficient in NSA IAM, NIST, COBIT, ISO 27001, and ISO 42001 frameworks. Dr. Srini also has hands-on experience with vulnerability management and vulnerability management platforms/tools.
Dr. Srini holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems Cybersecurity from Dakota State University, Madison, SD. He also holds M.S. degrees in Information Assurance and Computer Security, as well as Information Systems, from Dakota State University. Additionally, he has an M.B.A. degree in Computer Information Systems and Finance (dual major) from California State University, East Bay, and an M.S. degree in Computer Education and Cognitive Systems from the University of North Texas. Dr. Srini currently holds several IT certifications, including CCISO, AIGP, CISSP, CSSLP, CCSP, CCSK, CISM, CRISC, CISA, GMOB, CEH, AWS SAA, PMI PMP, CompTIA Project+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA Security+. Dr. Srini is a member of ISSA, ISC2, IAPP, and PMI organizations.
Dr. Srini taught at the University of Phoenix. He currently teaches at Walsh College (Troy, MI). His special interests are Application Security, AI Governance, Risk and Vulnerability Management, Cloud Computing, and Programming (Scripting) Languages.
In his free time, Dr. Srini spends time with his family and plays with Raspberry Pi, virtual machines, routers, switches, and penetration testing tools. Dr. Srini enjoys running long distances. He participates in the marathon and half-marathon events around the San Francisco Bay Area.
